About

James Trevascus is a Bristol based mixing and mastering engineer.

​

His recent mixing work includes the score for "28 Years Later" by Young Fathers (MPG Award for Best Original Score), multiple albums with Bristol based Billy Nomates, RVG's "Brainworms" (Australian Music Prize Winner), and various projects with artists such as My Mercury, Floodlights, Coldwave, Romy Vager, Colourbox Music and Pusher Music.

Other film score mixing projects include Straight Circle by Maxwell Sterling, and a number of score projects by Ben Salisbury, Geoff Barrow & Suvi-Eeva Äikäs such as Under Salt Marsh, HANNAH and Constellation.

Mastering credits include Little Simz, Portishead, The Mary Wallopers, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Young Fathers, Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury, ROÍS, John Francis Flynn, Beak>, Keaton Henson, Dirty Three, Ben Frost, Mom Jeans, Just Friends, Gazelle Twin, Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch, Hannah Peel, PJ Harvey, Oliver Coates, Clint Mansell and many more.

Occasionally still engineering, James has recorded with many artists such as IDLES, Billy Nomates, RVG, Mitch Sanders, Slate & Ash and John Donaldson, and many many more!

 

Starting life as an assistant engineer at The Panda Studios in California, he soon began engineering at Invada Studios in Bristol, and now works freelance at his studio in Bristol and beyond.
